The National Association of Manufacturers of Paints and Inks (ANAFAPYT) celebrated the opening of the ANAFAPYT Latin American Coatings Show 2013 from June 10-13th at Centro Banamax in Mexico City, Mexico.

The show’s organizers claim that nearly 4,000 visitors enjoyed more than 40 hours of training, meetings and a two-day short course during the ANAFAPYT Coatings Show.

One of the highlights of the show was the two-day short course titled “Improving Durability and Performance of Coatings,” which was presented by Jamil Baghdachi of theUniversity of Michigan, along with more than 40 technical conferences given by suppliers and manufacturers.

ANAFAPYT’s mission is to promote the progress and development of the pant and coatings industry.

“Our association was founded in 1944 as a response to the need for an institution that would bring together manufactures of paints, coatings, inks and related products,” said Javier Maldonado, president ANAFAPYT. “We will always support new developments and technical training, with these kind of shows we ensure the success of our associates businesses.”

Malonado also outlined more of ANAFAPYT’s mission stating that they represent the interest of their partners at national and international institutions, private and government, as well as serving as an open forum for the exchange of ideas and dissemination of technologies. ANAFAPYT also gathers key information and promotes business relationships based on ethnical principles.

The Latin American Coatings Show 2013 is one of the leading shows in the industry.

“The paint and coatings industry contributes about two percent of GDP, supported by numerous examples of Mexico leading the industry in manufacturing and exporting appliances”, Maldonado said.
